Whether it’s a lively outdoor wedding reception beneath our grand outdoor Cathedral, or a luxurious cocktail party inside a red velveteen speakeasy, we’ve got you covered. The precinct offers a range of flexible, contemporary spaces that can be tailored to suit your requirements.
Cathedral
Gather beneath this 18-metre-tall cathedral structure tucked away in the Hobart CBD. Cathedral shelters a spacious lawn area where guests have access to a private bar slinging all manner of libations, and food can be ordered from our kitchens in the Garden. The space is truly flexible—fit for cocktail parties, weddings, large-scale corporate events, lavish long-table banquets and more. Cathedral can be hired for private events most Sundays to Thursdays.
The Garden
Live your garden party fantasy, host a swanky lunch or a professional meet-up amongst a verdant oasis of greenery in the centre of the city. The Garden can be booked out for a range of private events, with access to curated bars and kitchens. This space is open to the public Wednesday to Sunday and is only available for private hire on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Altar Bar
Throw your own late night belter inside Hobart’s temple of live music. Altar Bar can be booked out for cocktail style and theatre style private events for up to 700 people, subject to programming.
Odeon
A historic theatre inspired by the latest New York designs of its time, the Odeon regularly hosts world-class musical artists, film screenings, cocktail parties, keynote presentations, and panel discussions. With two floors capable of accommodating up to 1,100 people, it is a versatile space for any event.
Mezz Bar
Concealed behind red curtains, Mezz Bar made its debut in 2023 as Dark Mofo's secret after-hours club. This space conjures up the feeling of a luxe speakeasy with a sultry edge—fit for opulent occasions that demand an air of exclusivity.
Shotgun Weddings
Bookings are now open for couples yearning to tie the knot in our grand outdoor Cathedral. For just $5,000, couples receive a fully styled ceremony, professional photography, bouquets and a one hour drinks package for 10 guests, with the ability to increase up to 50 for an additional fee.
