Live In The Garden | Fred Pribac & Romak
Sun 06 Jul
As part of Winter In The Garden, presented by Asahi Super Dry. Cosy up by the fire, hot drink in hand, and bask in the warmth of live performances from some of Tasmania's best under the nave of our Cathedral, each Sunday from 1pm.
Fred Pribac draws on his heritage of Slovenia playing instruments and music from all over Eastern Europe. He sings in several languages and doesn't mind explaining the meaning and history of those traditional tunes.
Romak (Roman Astra) grew up in Vienna, the centre of Europe and a melting pot of all those cultures around Austria. While as a teenager he would have preferred to hear rock and jazz, he could not escape the music being played in vineyards and beer gardens by gypsies and wandering minstrels.
Together Fred and Roman combine what's in their blood to offer their unique blend. It seems they like it.
