Denham Audio (UK) & Rebekah Abdeen (UK) and Ruff n' Ready b2b Sophentai
Sat 31 Jan
In a blizzard of breakbeats, b-lines and acid hooks, Denham Audio has brought new urgency and vitality to the modern rave scene. The sound he’s pushing is rooted in the legacy of UK hardcore, but those foundational sounds and styles are given a thorough spruce up, feeding into the buoyant areas of exploration happening between 140 and 160 BPM. Across these 12”s you can hear every shred of influence spilling out – from the upfront hardcore and jungle through to hip hop and reggae, and beyond the confines of music into sci-fi and anime.
Pushing the boundaries of hardgroove, breaks and bass—Rebekah's dynamic approach to emotionally rich club sets are seeing her gain valuable recognition as a key figure in the underground. She has been mixing records for as long as she can remember, developing an ultra-precise and all-encompassing style that incorporates the full, rich tapestry of UK Dance music culture into her craft. Oscillating between techno, breaks, and house, she serves up a gritty yet euphoric selection rooted in the origins of club culture.
A collaborative project started by local dj's Tom (Tomma) Levy and Caleb (7CDS) Holloway, Ruff n' Ready are exploring all corners of the UK Underground music scene—from 90s Garage House to modern NUKG and everything in between. Their set is locked and loaded with all the dancefloor flavours you need.
Sophentai is an up-and-coming DJ based in Nipaluna, building a name for herself in the Hobart club scene by regularly playing at local venues such as The Grand Poobah and Twisted Lime. Her sets aim to have you dancing with a wide variety of genres including Jersey Club, Baile Funk, UKG & UK Funky.
