FREQS & GEEKS ft. Watergate Seven + Chrysalis

FREQS & GEEKS showcases electronic artists from Lutruwita/Tasmania—emerging, established, and everything between. A space for the unclassifiable. Hypnotic, chaotic, euphoric, and raw. Textures that swallow you whole.

Watergate Seven are an electronic duo that revolve around downtempo instrumentals. They aim to create deep grooves and ambient soundscapes with lush, reverberated melodies. 

Chrysalis is the noise/power electronics project of Hobart resident Chris Groves, run alongside Chris’ Cipher Productions label since 2002. Chrysalis’ focus since its post-covid reinvigoration has been in realising longer-form conceptual pieces, including in collaboration with Adelaide project Rope Society – with a collaborative release planned for later in 2026. Recorded and live works combine physical and electronic sound sources with an emphasis on dynamic movement, impactful noise, raw vocals, and obscure thematics.

nuwa is a project centered around hybrid synthesis, utilising various synthesisers to create deep ambient, downtempo sounds, with dynamic melodic lines, and textural percussion.

skrillip prawn is an electronic/ambient artist in the middle of a lifelong experimentation with sound. they dropped their debut full length on New Year's Day, with plans for more releases throughout the year via their label, Prawn Records.
