ALTAR BAR'S BDAY BASH

It's Altar Bar's Birthday!!!! 

To be honest, we stopped counting. There is a time before and after the renovation in September 2024, so that's what we're celebrating! 

We’ve never really talked about it, but Altar Bar had a near-death experience. In an effort to avoid another closed-down Hobart venue, we scoured Marketplace, Gowans and every tip shop in the city, and whipped upstairs into a new shape. We wrangled some unforgettable personalities that now bring you trivia, bingo + some of the best free music in the CBD. 

Then you showed up, and thanks to that—we survived! You embrace our shitty (but pretty) couches. You have claimed your fave spot in the beer garden—and pocketed all our good ash trays. You’ve tagged our bathrooms with sweet love notes. 

Oh yeah, and the band room is going off its chops recently, thanks for your undying love for live music!  So we’re throwing a party where both floors will be jam-packed with fun until the early hours!
